2021 Year in Review

2021 was quite a year, wasn’t it? Globally, it's been a year full of pivots, growth, and rolling with the punches–and that’s true for all of us here at Dropps as well.

The dawning of 2022 feels like an important time to look back and celebrate all of this year’s victories. From making sustainability strides, bridging new partnerships, and creating community while working remotely, here are the highlights of our past year.

We couldn't have done it without you!

Sustainability Celebrations

Dropping single-use plastics, water waste, and our carbon footprint!

Plastic Bottles Avoided

In 2021, we helped keep over 1,400,000 plastic containers from being created. That brings us to an incredible all-time total of over 3,500,000 plastic containers never created!

Liters of Water Saved

Dropps products, which are concentrated and have no extra water added, have saved over 3,200,000 liters of water since our inception, with over 2,300,000 liters of water saved this year alone!

Carbon Offsets & Projects

Through our partnership with Clearloop, we’re reclaiming 100% of the carbon footprint of the shipping of all of our products, as well as the electricity use of all of our employees working from home in 2021 by expanding access to clean energy to four homes in Jackson, TN. We also helped build a solar project that will be cleaning up the electricity grid for the next 40 years!

Our Partners

Building partnerships with individuals and organizations who share our mission and vision for a cleaner, greener future.

Dropps x Oceana

We were proud in 2021 to be the exclusive partner in the home cleaning category supporting Oceana's efforts in ending the plastics problem and protecting our oceans. We also matched donations dollar-for-dollar this Giving Tuesday.

Dropps x Sacramento Kings

We are an official sponsor of the Sacramento Kings! When it comes to sustainability, the home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings scored a slam-dunk by becoming the first indoor sports arena to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification. The arena is 100 percent solar-powered and uses 45 percent less water and 30 percent less energy than required under California regulations, according to the Bee.

And, well, they also agreed that some of the baskets are laundry baskets.

Dropps x Pattie Gonia

Pattie Gonia is an environmentalist, climate activist, and on a mission to build a more inclusive climate movement. With Pattie, we were able to donate more than $25,000 to 5 incredible non-profits this year caring for both people and planet.

Dropps x Intersectional Environmentalist

We proudly supported a season of the Dismantled podcast, hosted by Leah Thomas and Intersectional Environmentalist (IE), a platform with resources and action steps working to dismantle systems of oppression in the environmental movement.

Our "This or That" series on Instagram sparked lots of healthy debate. It was hands-down our most controversial content of the year! The hottest debate of all was how to load bowls in the dishwasher: who knew?

Our Team & Culture

Many of us may work remotely, but that doesn’t make us any less of a team. We enjoyed dressing up in the warehouse and at home for Halloween and other festive occasions, practicing mindfulness in weekly workshops, and loving our pets together through images and funny anecdotes exchanged online (we’re sharing a few favorites on Instagram if you want to check it out!)
