How to Remove Soot Stains

How to Remove Soot Stains

If the air is cooling down and you’re getting excited for a fire, it’s possible you may get soot on your favorite fall clothes! When you’re getting ready to toss them in the wash, take a second look to see if any black stains are lingering alongside that wonderful campfire smell. Removing soot stains from clothing isn't difficult! Here’s how to get it out:

Step 1

Remove excess

Shake out the garment to make sure no soot remains lingering on the surface. Then, rinse the item inside out under cold, running water.

Step 2

Soak in Oxi Booster

Fill the sink with warm water and drop in one Oxi Booster pod. Wait for it to dissolve fully. Completely submerge the entire garment and allow it to soak for 1-3 hours. Rinse when done.

Wash and Dry

Wash the item in the hottest water the fabric will allow, using a Stain & Odor pod for extra stain fighting! Dry as normal.
