Dropps was honored to support the sustainable fashion movement by sponsoring MAISON DE MODE's pre-Oscars Sustainable Style Gala. Held on Saturday, February 23rd at LA's famous Sunset Tower Hotel, the gala was a rare evening celebrating sustainable fashion, where five top luxury fashion houses design one-of-a-kind ethical ensembles for five A-list talent who are true ambassadors of sustainability.

The dinner designed by Sasha Bikoff Interior Design included custom carpeting made of recycled plastic by ECONYL® , and custom GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic silk table cloths by Taroni.

Sustainable Style Award, Dr. Jane Goodall

Dr. Jane Goodall is best known as the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, which promotes the understanding and protection of chimpanzees and other great apes and their habitats. However, not as many people know that Jane has also become a force in the movement for a more sustainable fashion industry. She is building awareness of the harmful potential impacts that production, distribution, and waste in the apparel sector can have on the environment.

Designer of the Year Award: Caroline Scheufele, Artistic Director and Co-President at Chopard
The award is given to a designer in fashion, jewelry, or accessories for their achievement and excellence in sustainable design and practice. Under Scheufele’s leadership, Chopard has become the only luxury watch and jewelry company to achieve a 100% ethical gold supply chain.
