As the inventors of the laundry pod we're all about creating new categories. So with the biggest night in music fast approaching, we're entering the music biz by creating a new award for "Best Laundry Song".

We have met some amazing musicians from the Dropps community who have agreed to compete for this award.

Introducing our first nominee....Drum roll please! Eric Bazilian.

Eric Bazilian is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and producer, best known for being a founding member of the rock band The Hooters and for writing "One of Us," made famous by Joan Osborne in 1995.

Please tell us about yourself!

I play guitar, I write songs, I sing them sometimes.

What's your favorite song of all time? Who is your favorite artist of all time?

My favorite song is “Dirty Laundry” by Don Henley. My favorite artist is Clean Bandit.

What do you love about what you do?

I love the fact that my work is clean, even when my guitar sound is dirty.

Where are you from?

I’ve been told that I was born in Philadelphia, though I don’t remember that part clearly at all.

Do you have any pets?

Only some dust devils.

Do you have any hobbies? What do you like to do during your downtime?

My hobbies are the same as my work… writing songs, playing guitar or mandolin or hurdy-gurdy, getting on a tour bus, washing my socks and underwear in hotel bathrooms.

Love the song? Think it should win a Grammy? Share it via SoundCloud!

What is your favorite Dropps product?

Original Dropps. I, too, would bathe in them.

Do you have any dirty laundry secret  or cleaning or stain removal tips?

If I told you then they wouldn’t be secrets any more.

What is your favorite piece of clothing, and why?

I own eight of the same black t-shirt, four of the same black jeans, ten pairs of black cotton fluffy Gold Toe socks, and ten pairs of underwear. Three hoodies, four shirts, two sports jackets, one suit, two pairs of boots, one pair of loafers, one pair of sneakers. I like to keep it simple.

Describe your favorite place.

My favorite place is my recording studio.

At Dropps, we believe in making sustainability and powerful cleaning accessible to all. What other sustainable practices do you implement in your day to day life?

I recycle everything! Right now there is a closet filled with paper containers, plastic, and glass jars and bottles that I need to take across the street, in fact, to the recycling station, thanks for the reminder.

Ready to vote for your top pick in our "Best Laundry Song" category?

  • So much fun! I listened to 4 laundry song contestants earlier this evening. Pretty cool listening to all the genres. I’m humming & singing “Dropp it high, Dropp it lo-o-ow”

  • I’m new to Dropps and love the concept and products. Enjoying your fun marketing, too. My favorite laundry song is Laundry Room by The Avett Brothers. Take a listen!
