Happy National Public Lands Day! Each year, the National Environmental Education Foundation organizes a nation-wide effort to clean up, rebuild, and maintain public parks. According to the NEEF, “on NPLD [last year] more than 175,000 volunteers and park visitors celebrated at more than 2,100 public land sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.” These volunteers participate in activities like collecting invasive plants, building trails, planting trees, and cleaning up waste, and have overall contributed to an estimated $18 million in improvements!
Open lands and public parks are becoming scarcer by the day, making conservation efforts like NPLD even more important. We have this beautiful planet, and we should do everything we can to keep it that way!
From recycling regularly to using products that produce less waste to taking time to give back at events like NPLD, environmental preservation should be a part of our daily lives. By adjusting our habits, we can reduce harsh effects on the environment and help save our planet, one step at a time. At Dropps, we are committed to developing high quality products that minimize environmental waste and use safer chemical ingredients, and have even been approved by the EPA’s Safer Choice Program.
