College students have a bad reputation when it comes to doing laundry. Not all of them have their moms wash their clothes on the weekend. Not all of them stain their whites with a rogue red sock. And not all of them wait 5 months before doing a load of laundry.
For those college students who are laundry savvy, or at the very least clean their clothes more than once per semester, these items will come in handy:
Pop up hamper – saves space, comes in fun colors and patterns, has handles for easy portability
Light weight laundry basket or laundry bag – for holiday breaks when the dirty laundry comes home to visit
Sewing kit – hopefully someone in your teen’s dorm knows what to do with one.
Stain remover
Drying rack – not only does air drying prevent favorite clothes from shrinking, it saves poor college kids a few quarters
Table top ironing board and iron – you never know, it might actually get used
Detergent Pods – avoid measuring and save space with laundry detergent pods that take the guesswork out of doing laundry
Laundry book and app – send your laundry beginners off to college with a “how to do laundry” book or have them check out our Cleaning Resource Center
Lots of quarters!
